About the Courage Campaign
The Courage Campaign is an online organizing network that empowers nearly 700,000 grassroots and netroots activists to push for progressive change in California. Since the narrow passage of Proposition 8 in November 2008, the Courage Campaign has been a leader in advocating for marriage equality by organizing grassroots training and door-to-door neighborhood canvassing.
About Proposition 8
On November 4, 2008, Proposition 8 was narrowly passed by California voters. It amended the state constitution to deny the right of marriage to same sex couples. Despite the views of older generations, young Californians of all ethnicities and backgrounds voted overwhelmingly against the proposition.
